Join Jahnavi Devi for an advanced Vinyasa practice, exploring the philosophy and stories behind the Hindu god, Hanuman. Known for his bravery and his courage and most of all, for his love and devotion to Lord Ram and Sita, in this workshop, we invoke Hanuman and move you patiently and thoroughly towards your own brave heart.
Hanuman is known as the embodiment of service and devotion, dedicating his entire existence to the divine couple, Lord Ram and Sita - to reuniting them and to the practice of selfless service and devotion. Through the strength of his spirituality, he was able to accomplish great heroic, physical feats. Hanuman’s courage and valour was always displayed without ego - everything was an expression of his selfless dedication to his Lord Rama.
In this heartfelt two-hour session, Jahnavi beautifully interweaves Mudras, Pranayam, Asana and Mantra to help remind us that we contain the Divine within our own hearts, and that through love, service and devotion, we can remember this truth. As well as a physical Asana practice, you will learn and recite the Hanuman Chalisa line by line. Jai Hanuman!

Brahma muhurta is the time before sunrise when it is believed to be most beneficial to practice yoga, to meditate or to worship.

During the pre-dawn period, there is the availability of nascent oxygen in the atmosphere. Waking early for spiritual practice boosts immunity, increases energy levels, helps maintain the balance of blood ph and gives higher levels of oxygen to the brain. The serene atmosphere and the pre-dawn stillness during Brahma Muhurta are thought to enhance concentration and mental clarity, making it an ideal time for self-reflection and spiritual pursuits. The tranquility and heightened energy of Brahma Muhurta offer a pristine backdrop for introspection and personal growth. Ayurvedic tradition holds that the body's rhythms are in perfect alignment with nature during Brahma Muhurta, facilitating optimal functioning of the body systems.
You will learn:
1) Perfect timings for early morning rituals, esp after illness, busy times, parenting or during stressful experiences. Learn first Mantras to take on waking, before setting feet down, while bathing.
2) Learn the Panc Pran mudras and morning mudras.
3) Traditional Surya Namaskar with Surya Mantras, a beautiful way of igniting your morning and taking any boredom out of Surya Namaskar.
4) Then you will learn a Home Pooja Step by Step. You may need to have available some Pooja items. Once enrolled, we will send you a list of simple items and where and what to have available.
5) Learn properly, with exact pronunciation and devotion, mantras for morning pooja.
6) Learn which colour to wear, which deity on each day is presiding, deity mantras, which foods to take on which day of the week according to Sanātana Dharma.

Yoga Philosophy Study Group
WEEKLY YOGA PHILOSOPHY, HISTORY AND CONTEXTUAL STUDY GROUP
WEDNESDAYS AT 7-8.15pm GMT
In-Person and Live Online or in your own time (Catch up available for 7 days)
Would you like to have more in depth knowledge about ability to speak about and understand the yogic and spiritual texts? Perhaps you have studied scriptures such as the Yoga Sutras or the Bhagavad Gita in your yoga teacher training or at home, but still need ideas on how to accurately discuss aspects of fundamental historical and contextual Yogic scripture.
The sacred texts are a guide to an internal journey—so the study of one particular text, scripture or technique in depth will allow you to then articulate what you know into classes, or just for your own Sadhana, with confidence. This group is intended for anyone who is ready to understand the teachings at the heart of yoga through study, self-inquiry, practice and direct experience. You will also begin to decipher how the knowledge that arises through meditation and yoga differs from knowledge that is intellectual, and begin to articulate for yourself your own knowledge and explanations of the essential Yog texts. Come and get your Swadhyaya study boosted with a weekly group exploring aspects of Yogic, Vedic and Hindu approaches to spiritual philosophy.
DAY AND TIME
The study group starts at 7pm (UK/UTC time) on Wednesday 31st January 2024 and will be held weekly for 5 weeks. You must enrol for the whole course, and cannot drop in once the course has begun.
There are no transfers between study groups and no refunds can be given.
IN PERSON
You can attend the discourse study group in person in the Yog Mandir in north London, N10 2QE, UK.
If attending in person, you can be in the space with the teachings, and have warming homemade masala tea while we study together in person and online. Once enrolled please state if you are in person or online, and you will be sent directions to the studio.
RECORDINGS
If you can’t attend any of the group meetings ‘live’, you can choose to get the zoom recordings instead, available for 7 days and complete all of the study group at your own pace. Live in person in Claire’s studio, or Live online on Wednesday 7-8.15pm GMT/UK time. You can also enrol and do the whole study group on catch up video, and do your work at your own space over the 6 week study period for each module focus.
International Yoga Festival Rishikesh
I’ll be presenting between 11-13th March alongside other incredible teachers at the renowned Parmath Niketan Ashram at the International Yoga Festival. If you want to be immersed in the ashram experience, would enjoy to share a multi bedroom with the Satsang, share food, and experience many different yoga teachers in a festival style, there is nowhere else to be for this experience top Yog, meditation and music teachers in one place.
